What a difference a year makes!

The first photo was taken one year ago after I had completed building the bed deck. I was still a couple months away from beginning to sleep in here. The second photo is from this morning. Hella has definitely become a home now, not a camper. I am very blessed with this sweet little steel vardo!

Flyers posted for April shoot #2!

I spent the afternoon dropping off and posting flyers in all the mobile parks in town. I was warmly received at every one of them. So exciting!

Two Jackdaw shoot weekends in April!

Super excited for April and the initial public Jackdaw family portrait weekends! I thought I'd share this handout so you can see how print delivery works while maintaining anonymity. Before I shoot each family, I assign them a sequence number written on a dry erase board and take a shot of that before I create their portraits. When done with their shots, I will write their number on a Jackdaw card as well as this sheet. By the next afternoon, I will have done all the Photoshop work and produced their prints for delivery. They simply have to return to collect them at the same spot the shoot happened the day before. Special thanks to my friend and patron, Marty, for his expertise with the Spanish translations on my flyers!

I love airports.

I'm on assignment at Bowers Field this morning creating  images of CWU's new Pipers. It's a gorgeous morning out here! My friend Paul, an Alaska Airlines captain, was passing by and grabbed this shot of me. Looking at it I suddenly realized I'm about to begin my final quarter as CWU's photographer. It's been a fantastic place to work, and I'll miss my crew and the students. But, I am so ready to launch into Jackdaw full time! Four and a half months to go!

Snowy awakening...

It's always very sweet to awaken warm and cozy to snow falling. For me the experience is extra wonderful in my little rolling home. So blessed! Happy March!
